You will see the term creative play often throughout my site and BlockHeads exemplifies this concept more than most projects. This interactive portrait series stretches your creative muscles as you participate in constructing a wearable headpiece using only the most basic craft supplies. With nothing but a pair of scissors, Elmers’s glue, and construction paper each piece is meant to be recycled after the event leaving nothing but these portraits to document the event This project revives a childlike sense of creating without restrictions, letting go of what society considers “good art” allows for a playful state of creation and enjoyment. You can find the same spirit in my work as I work intuitively building up my work in a spontaneous nature until it feels complete. I hope to see you at a future event!
